6 WEEK SCREENWRITING

ScriptScout is the UK's premier centre for screenwriting excellence.

During the course, screenwriters develop an original idea from concept to first draft and will -

• define the cinematic concept;

• learn about story structure;

• write treatments and outline the story;

• develop strong and convincing characters;

• construct textured scenes;

• experience in-class team writing;

• write effective dialogue;  

• and plan what to do with the completed script.

Courses cost £895 for 6 weeks. We hold classes for two full days a week, and students work intensively on their projects in the intervening days.

We find that spacing classes in this way allows students maximum time during which they can work on their screenplays without rushing their ideas.

1 WEEK SCREENWRITING

The 1 week crash course in screenwriting is designed to give writers a thorough overview of the process of writing a script.

During the course, screenwriters develop an original idea from concept to treatment and will -

• define the cinematic concept and learn to pitch a screenplay;

• learn about story structure;

• develop a treatment for an idea;

• examine how to establish strong and convincing characters;

• explore how to write a strong opening for a script and construct textured scenes;

• write effective dialogue;  

• and plan what to do with a completed script.

Courses cost £350 for the week.
